Andrew Talbot, a former pupil of Craighill Primary School and Tain Royal Academy, graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a BSc (First Class Hons) in Molecular Biology and Genetics. He now lives and works in Birmingham.

Laura Ross, a former pupil of Tarbat Old Primary and Tain Royal Academy, graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with an honours degree in Media and Communication.

Paul Tierney, a former pupil of Dingwall Primary and Dingwall Academy, graduated from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, with a BSc in Computer Science with Hons. He is currently employed by an oil company in Aberdeen.

Sinead Urquhart, a former pupil of Maryburgh Primary and Dingwall Academy, graduated from the University of Stirling with Honours in Finance.

Nikki Stephens, a former pupil of Milton Primary and Invergordon Academy, graduated with B.Ed Primary Education with Honours from the University of Aberdeen.

Yvonne Smith, a former pupil of Conon Bridge Primary School and Dingwall Academy, graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, with a BSC (Hons) in Physiotherapy.

Victoria Ross, former pupil of Hilton of Cadboll Primary School and Tain Royal Academy, graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Psychology.

Alasdair Iain Ross, son of Elaine and Rob Ross, Aberdeen and eldest grandson of Mrs J Campbell, Strathpeffer, gained an MA in Sociology at Aberdeen University. He is now undertaking an MSc in Psychology at Plymouth University.

Claire Thain, Tain, graduated with a BA Hons (First Class) in Sociology and Social Policy from Stirling University. She also received the annual award for Best Overall Student in her discipline. Claire is a former pupil of Craighill Primary, Tain, and Bridgend Education Centre, Alness.

Emma Reid graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a Bsc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography. She is the daughter of Neil and Anita Reid, Conon Bridge, and a former pupil of Dingwall Academy.

Donald Ross, son of Robert and Nida Ross, Shore Street, Hilton of Cadboll, graduated from Strathclyde University with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering (with Distinction). Donald, a former pupil of Hilton of Cadboll Primary and Tain Royal Academy, is now employed with MCS Subsea Engineering in Aberdeen as a graduated engineer.

Gillian Smith, former pupil of Charleston Academy and Tain Royal Academy, graduated Bachelor of Law with Honours from the University of Edinburgh.

Linda Ross, Loch Ussie, daughter of Dicky and Vivian Lumby, graduated from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, with a BA (Hons) in Social Work.

Lisa Thomson, Ardgay, graduated with a BA in Child and Youth Studies from Inverness College UHI. She is the daughter of Angela Thomson, Ardgay and the late Michael Thomson, Kinlochbervie, and is now pursuing a postgraduate course through Strathclyde University.

Lea Savage, former pupil of Park Primary and Invergordon Academy, graduated with a first class BEng (Hons) degree in Software Engineering from Napier University. Young Software Engineer of the Year 2008 finalist, Lea also won the British Computer Society Award for Best Project 2008 and received the Napier Student Medal for Software Engineering. She now works as a software engineer for Adobe Systems, based in Edinburgh.

Laura Sutherland, daughter of Ross and Caroline Sutherland, Old Mill, Bridgend, Dingwall, former Dingwall Academy Head Girl, has completed her Post Graduate Studies, receiving an MFA in Drawing and Painting from Edinburgh College of Art. In September she will take up the post of Artist in Residence at Fettes College, Edinburgh.

Gillian Rodger, Muir of Ord, a former Tarradale Primary and Dingwall Academy pupil, graduated from Manchester Metroplitan University PhD in Microbiology. She now works as a postdoctoral researcher in molecular microbiology in London.

Karen Sutherland, Inverness, graduated from the University of Glasgow MA (Hons) in Hispanic Studies (Spanish and Portuguese). Karen’s dad is originally from Muir of Ord and went to Dingwall Academy. Her granny (Winnie Sutherland) and her aunties and uncles still live there.

Karin Thompson, Tain, graduated BEd (Hons) in Physical Education from the University of Edinburgh. She is a former pupil of Knockbreck Primary and Tain Royal Academy.

Laura Ross, Invergordon, graduated BSc (Hons) in Textiles and Fashion Design Management from Heriot Watt University, where she will continue to study for MSc in International Textile Marketing. She is a former pupil of Invergordon Academy.

Suzanne Zoe Underwood, daughter of David and Linday, Muir of Ord, graduated BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. She is a former pupil of Dingwall Academy.

Dr Mark James Skinner BDS, graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) with Commendation from the University of Dundee. He was a former pupil of Dingwall Primary and Dux medallist (2002) of Dingwall Academy. He has accepted a Dental Officer post at Dundee Dental Hospital whilst continuing his studies with the Royal College of Surgeons towards MFDS.

Michelle Ross, Maryburgh, graduated from Stirling University with BA (Hons) in Criminology and Sociology. She is a former pupil of Maryburgh Primary and Dingwall Academy.

Ashley Sinclair, Alness, graduated from St Andrews University MA (Hons) in Modern History. She is the daughter of Carol and the late Raymond Sinclair, and a former pupil of Obsdale Primary and Alness Academy.

Chloe Ross, Diabaig, Torridon, a former Gairloch High School pupil graduated MA (First Class Hons) in History and International Relations. She will return to university in Aberdeen in September to begin a PhD into Scottish and Irish labour movements from 1900-1918.

Vicky Shearer, a former pupil of Coulhill Primary and Alness Academy, graduated from Manchester University with a Masters Degree with Distinction in Human Resources and Development.

Mhairi Sigrist, former pupil of Dingwall Academy, graduated PhD in Vascular Medicine from the University of Nottingham. Mhairi graduated in absentia as she has recently started a post-doctoral position at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.

Carina Thomson, a former pupil of Dingwall Primary and Dingwall Academy, graduated HND Hospitality Management from Inverness College UHI.

David R Smith, graduated from the University of Edinburgh, Master of Engineering (1st Hons) in Electronics and Electrical Engineering. He is a former pupil of Newmore Primary School and Invergordon Academy and is the eldest child of Fred Smith, Pitmaduthy and Maxine Smith, Invergordon.

Lesley Thompson, Knockbreck Road, Tain graduated from Heriot Watt University with a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics. She is a former pupil of Knockbreck Primary School and Tain Royal Academy.

Struan Sawalnyski graduated from Edinburgh University MA (Fiirst Class Honours) in Russian Studies with German. Struan was formerly a pupil of Dingwall Academy.

John Ross graduated from UHI Inverness College with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction. He is the son of Hector and Janette Ross, Saltburn, and a former pupil of Invergordon Academy. John is currently studying for a professional graduate diploma in Secondary Education Technology at Aberdeen University.

Jemma Sutherland graduated BA in Childcare and Youth Studies from the UHI Millennium Institute. She is a former pupil of Tarradale Primary and Dingwall Academy and is the daughter of Sandy and Louise Sutherland, Muir of Ord. She will study for her Post Graduate Diploma in Primary Education at Glasgow University.

Paula Stewart graduated from Stirling University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She is a former pupil of Alness Academy, and is at present employed by NHS Highland as a Community Nurse in Tain.

Graham Sargent, former pupil of Ferintosh Primary and Dingwall Academy graduated from the Metropoliton College, Glasgow, with an HND in Culinary Art with Management. He is currently employed as Pastry Chef in the prestigious Rogona Restaurant in Glasgow.

Georgina Stone, daughter of MSP Jamie and Flora Stone, passed out from RAF Cranwell, the RAF officer training college. She is receiving the BAE Systems Trophy from Air Marshall Thornton. Georgina was educated at Tain Royal Academy and St Andrews University (MA in International Relations) before she joined the RAF. She is going into the Intelligence branch of the RAF.
