Dingwall takes home Plockton shield

PICTURED is the Dingwall Academy first year shinty team with the Plockton High School six-a-side shield.

Their coach, Gaelic teacher, Iain MacIlleChiar, said, "This is a superb tournament held annually to encourage those who have played shinty in primary school to carry on at secondary level. Ten teams competed from as far afield as Kinlochbervie to Lochaber and the behaviour of all was impeccable. The standard of play shows the amount of excellent coaching which has been carried out in primary schools.

"Thanks also goes to pupil John Ritchie, S3, for his help and expertise on the day."
