Cabers travel to Fort William in MacTavish clash

CABERFEIDH will play Fort William in the first round of the MacTavish Cup, which gets under way at the end of March.

 

In another attractive first round tie, Beauly have home advantage over local rivals Lovat.

Lorraine Christie, of sponsors The Co-operative Food, said, “We are pleased to sponsor the competition for a third consecutive year, and it was a pleasure to be involved with the draw. Hopefully the ties we’ve drawn will provide some exciting shinty.”

Archie Robertson, Camanachd Association president, added, “Last year’s final, where Kingussie clinched the cup for the second year running, was a classic and I am in no doubt that following this week’s draw we are in for another highly entertaining run of matches.”

The first round of the competition takes place on Saturday, March 31 and The Co-operative MacTavish Cup Final takes place on Saturday, June 16, at Bught Park, Inverness.

First round ties — Lochaber v Lochcarron; Glenurquhart v Inverness; Fort William v Caberfeidh; Strathglass v Skye

Beauly v Lovat; Kinlochshiel v Kingussie. Newtonmore and Kilmallie received byes.
