A THREE-YEAR sponsorship deal from The Co-operative Funeralcare has been secured for the Scottish Curling Championships.

The UK's largest funeral director will sponsor the competition that determines which men's and women's teams will represent Scotland in the World Curling Championships.

Run by The Royal Caledonian Curling Club, the Co-operative Funeralcare Scottish Curling Championships will take place from February 13-19 at the Dewars Centre, Perth. Admission is free and BBC Sport will be broadcasting highlights on BBC2 with live web streaming of the finals online.

The qualifying rounds for The Co-operative Funeralcare Scottish Curling Championships take place on January 14 and 15 and from January 20 to 22 when 29 men's teams will compete.

The top teams will then go forward to compete at The Co-operative Funeralcare Scottish Curling Championships in Perth.

The winning teams will represent Scotland at the World Women's Championships in Alberta, Canada, from March 17 to 25 and the World Men's Championships in Basel, Switzerland, from March 31 to April 8.

Scotland has been highly successful on the international stage. Eve Muirhead led the Scotland women's team to Gold at the European Championships in Moscow in December 2011. Tom Brewster's team were silver medallists at the 2011 World Championships.
