A CHEEKY thief has made off with a big haul of malt whiskies and other drinks from a Black Isle hotel, disappearing with the loot in a stolen wheelbarrow.
The raid took place between midnight and 3am on Wednesday at the Munlochy Arms Hotel and it is thought the thief broke in through a window at the rear of the building.
The property has recently changed hands and is in the throes of a major facelift and it is thought the raider may have taken advantage of the disruption.
As well as several bottles of high-value malt whisky, the haul included alcopops, some towels and tools, as well as the wheelbarrow.
A spokesman for the police at Dingwall said: “It looks like this person used the wheelbarrow to carry off the stolen goods. We would be grateful if anyone who saw anything suspicious would contact us on 01349 869534.”
