MOTIVATED Ross-shire residents willing to take up the challenge of running, walking or cycling 5k every day for the next 50 days are being encouraged to gather at Muir of Ord on Sunday for the Highland launch of the event.
The 5x50 Challenge, which is aimed at making sport and exercise part of everyone’s daily life, begins on Sunday near the Mannsfield Showground and runs until October 28.
Highland Challengers are being invited along to the starting area in a grassed park behind Muir of Ord police station for 12.45pm.
Cyclists are being asked to leave their bikes behind for the day one launch as the route can only be used for walking, jogging and running due to other events taking place in the area.
Those wishing to take part should register on the website 5x50.co.uk and make a £5 donations to SportAid before turning up on Sunday. Participants are also encouraged to gather sponsorship for SportAid throughout the challenge.
