THE impact a controversial incinerator will have on the economic fortunes of a Ross-shire town which is a popular port for lucrative passenger cruise liners was due to be discussed today (Thursday) at a public local inquiry.
The inquiry, which is hearing evidence into issues surrounding the £43million waste burner planned for Invergordon, continued this week when local landower Mohammed Al Fayed turned up to support locals opposed to the proposal.
This week’s session, before Reporter Richard Dent, also dealt with the health and air quality aspects of the incinerator, proposed by Combined Power and Heat (Highlands) Ltd.
