A MAN who supplied cannabis to schoolchildren as young as 15 will be sentenced next month after admitting the charge at Dingwall Sheriff Court this week.

Thirty-six year-old Douglas Macdonald of Deans Road, Fortrose pleaded guilty to being involved in the supply of the Class B drug between January 1, 2010 and May 19 last year.

In a brief appearance before Sheriff John Halley at Dingwall, Macdonald admitted being involved in the supply to others at various locations including his own home, Fortrose Cathedral, Fortrose tennis courts, locations at Rosemarkie and Avoch and the Snow Goose Restaurant in Inverness and a bus travelling from Inverness to Cromarty.

Two of the children involved were aged 15 and five others over 16.

Sheriff Halley deferred sentence until March 15 for reports when he will hear the prosecution and defence narratives regarding the background to the case.
