A DINGWALL woman inspired by her “total marvel” of a neighbour to throw a fundraising coffee morning was blown away by the response of the local community.

Margaret Mcintosh joined forces with her Mill Street neighbour Margaret Barnetson to stage the Big Macmillan Coffee Morning for the charity, which cares for people with cancer. A heartwarming response from businesses, neighbours and well-wishers saw the dynamic duo pull in a remarkable £810 for the charity.

Ms Mcintosh said: “It was a joint effort between myself and Margaret Barnetson, my 80-year-old neighbour who still volunteers at the hospice charity shop in Dingwall and still drives. She is a total marvel and was my inspiration for organising it in the first place.”

Family, friends and local businesses chipped in to make the event at 9-10 Mill Street a huge success — with ample opportunity for a good catch-up over a cuppa.
