MORE than £20,000 has been dished out to motorists in compensation for cars damaged on crumbling Highland roads.
In the last year the council has had to pay £20,958 to 92 angry motorists to fix vehicles damaged by potholes, drainage problems or other road faults, averaging £227 per claim.
The information was revealed after Black Isle councillor Craig Fraser prompted places committee chairman Allan Henderson and showed a further 128 claims have been made against the local authority, which have either been refused or yet to be settled.
Councillor Fraser will be allowed to ask a follow-up question at a meeting of the full council on Thursday. September 7
