Five easy steps to reinventing your bathroom

There was a time when redesigning the look and feel of a bathroom, complete with one of any number of shower enclosures, would have been inordinately expensive, time consuming and beyond the means of most DIY enthusiasts.

What would often result is a badly designed, ill fitting and poorly put together shower cubicle that would leak excessively, resulting in a dramatic loss of performance and a lot more of your hard-earned money to put right.

Nowadays, there is a much easier way to ensure that you can give your bathroom that feel of quality craftsmanship and it is as simple as following the five easy steps outlined below!

1. Talk to the experts: You may have your own idea about what you want your bathroom to look like, whether you want a certain type of shower enclosure around a bath, or whether you would like a separate shower cubicle.

Before you rush ahead with your plans, it is best to discuss your ideas in detail with an expert, such as those at BathEmpire. An expert can look at your plans and give you sensible, affordable and practical advice as to what solution suits you best.

2. Plan a timetable: Once you have decided upon what design best suits your room, the next thing to do is plan a timetable for the renovation work.

Having a bathroom out of use for any length of time can be a huge inconvenience. As such, it is vital that you ensure you keep the unavoidable inconvenience down to a minimum. This is best achieved by ensuring that you have everything you need to complete the task in as short a time as possible. So, for example, if you need a new pivot enclosure that will take five days to be delivered, it is not advisable to go home and immediately tear out your existing shower!

3. Check the inventory: As part of your timetable you should have an inventory of the tools and equipment you need to help you install your new shower enclosure. There are few things more annoying than having to stop work to find a piece of equipment or hardware that you need for the job. Having everything you need to hand for the task will help you complete the work more quickly.

4. Get expert help: If you are not a comfortable plumber or electrician, then it is strongly advisable to seek expert help. There is little point spending money on a quality, luxury shower enclosure or other bathroom furniture, if you lack the skills to install it properly.

5. Be realistic: It is tempting to think that when you start renovating your bathroom and shower that you can have it done in a day or so. It is best to be a tad more realistic in your approach and ensure you have made plans for your family to have access to a bathroom or shower elsewhere while the work is being completed, especially if it is going to take longer than a day to complete.

These five simple steps, if followed, will allow you to install your fabulous new shower enclosure, new bathroom or wet room, simply, quickly and affordably.
